Laura Korman, M.S.

Ecotourism and Digital Content

Laura earned her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies at University of Colorado. While studying abroad with the School for International Training, Laura worked with Oceanwise Expeditions, a whale shark ecotourism operator based in Exmouth, Western Australia. After graduating Laura went on to earn her Master's in Environmental Science from Villanova University, where she studied the implications of coastal land use on nearshore coral reefs in Puerto Rico.  

She has served as an Environmental Scientist and Program Manager for California's Environmental Protection Agency. She helped manage over $2 million in state contracting funds and coordinated with federal partners to manage Lake Tahoe's water quality. Most recently, Laura has joined the Southeast Coastal Ocean Observing Regional Association as a Program Coordinator.   

Laura brings a diverse background in marine ecotourism, water quality preservation, stakeholder engagement, and coral reef ecology to the Ocean Rescue Alliance.
